So, a public apology to all the diehard Project 52 fans--especially Tonya. Had a busy weekend and then some issues with Photoshop. Finally getting around to posting our contest of the week and the results from Week 3.
Conor won by a landslide with his cherry pic. That's right--it wasn't my photo, but I wish it was! As soon as I saw that photo, I knew it was going to win--it's a killer shot and we'll take orders for enlargements now! ; ) For those that took pity on my foam shot, thank you and you'll be receiving a complimentary print in the mail for your loyalty. Just kidding--but we loved all the comments this past week and want you to keep it up! (I would like to note that Malia and I had a good time mixing vinegar and baking soda--it took us back to the good old days in mom's kitchen when we used to experiment. Second note: Conor was playing with his cherry while Malia and I hurriedly raced around Houston all night to different stores for last minute bridal show setup. Third note: I still love Conor, our marriage is still intact, and I won't hold this win against him; luckily I am not as competitive as he!) Results for Week 3 were 30 votes total; 24 for the Cherry and 6 for the Foam.
So, please place your votes now for Week 4: 19th Street @ Night. (This is only a few blocks from where we live in the historic Heights area of Houston. There are so many cool places to take portraits here! We had a great time and love that it's close by.) Choose the photo of Dayna or Conor. Commentary below is much appreciated!

Subject wise - Dayna totally wins. (D - u r super fine!!) but composition and light and general setup has to go to the picture of Conor :)
Well, you're as glamorous as ever, Dayna Sue, but I voted for Conor. I think. I wasn't sure if that meant the picture OF Conor or the picture that Conor took! I'm seriously confused. LOL! But I meant to vote for the one where Conor is on the bench. So if I didn't get that right, will you fix it for me? SWEET shot, this one. I love random pics like this where there is a piece of scenery or object that naturally frames the subject in the photo. :) LOVE IT! And yes, I am your most die hard fan!!
I agree... I love the way the bench arm acts as a frame... Awesome shot!!
Hi Dayna! I finally got a chance to check out your blog. Love the photos - you two are inspiring. And both of these shots are great. I think they are both framed well - the bench framing Conor, and the darkness framing Dayna. Awesome perspectives and lighting in both, as well. So when it came down to voting, I gave my vote to the Conor/bench pic, just because Ms. Photographer had to get down on her knees to get the shot, and I know my knees hurt from kneeling to get flower shots the other day!
Dayna your always looking good! But the shot of Conor through the bench with the slight tilt of the camera gives it a fresh angle. The dark contrast through the bench to the lighted part of Coner gives a nice focus point that is easy to see right off the bat, and the nice thing about this photo is I don't have to think about what I am looking at, it's been framed by the park bench handle. My vote is for the picture with Conor sitting on the bench.
Pic of Conor is awesome! I love the way you use the bench arm as a frame! Very creative!!!
Man alive! I love the shadow kissers on the front of that giant rubix cube. :D So fun! And I must know... Is that gray couch made out of plastic?
Mrs. Tonya Mae, the answer to your couch question is found under the appropriate post.
