We didn't start the fire. . . Billy Joel took the words right out of my mouth! Something of interest to us lately has been the rash of fires in the Heights area of Houston. An arsonist is on the loose and continues to burn houses. The most recent was last week and about 4 blocks from our home--scary! Only old, abandoned houses have been targeted so far. We feel a little bit safer, looking at the homes directly around us. This has to be stopped before someone gets hurt!
You can catch a glimpse of the destruction in these two photos. We'll post more later. Since I procrastinated getting my photo ready, I have the pleasure of blogging. I won with the eggplant family. I thought they were so cute and loved that the poor things were labeled with "$1.00". Last week was a close race, neck-to-neck the entire time. Made it much more exciting for us! I think that could be why Conor's nails got so short. Vote for your favorite photo and post a comment as to why you like it. Choose Door or Caution Tape.

I love the black and white contrast of the door, and the angle on the photo is great too. I do like focus on the other photo but I think the door is stronger.
Dayna Sue! I knew I could count on you!! :)
Well, this one was a difficult toss up for me. I even had to walk away from the computer for a while and then come back. I like both pics for different reasons. I think the reason I finally swayed to the caution tape photo, though is because of the coloring. I like the yellowy green foliage outside the burned out, focused windows with the caution tape in the foreground all in a blur. Very cool. It's kind of a thrilling spooky! But tis the season, right?? But the door one was awesome, too, with it's textured, flaky layers and ashy polk-a-dots from the burn. (May the Lord smite the arsonist, however!)
obviously the second one is better, the caution tape. i mean just look at the colors and contrast!
At first I likes the door picture, but the more I looked at them, the more i loved the caution tape photo. I like how the green is pulling you through the windows like hope in the midst of despair... that's actually a picture i'd frame but crop it just above the caution tape so that it doesn't compete with the windows.
I love the door! I love the color... the angle... the rough edges... I see the symbology of my life in that door. I also just have a love of doors! lol :)
I keep trying to post a comment on your other website and it won't let me. GAD DANGIT! Anyway, my comment is this:
Dayna Sue. What is on that pizza? Banana peels?
I know! Those things on the pizza are microwaved tiger lily petals, right?!
Maybe they are dehydrated pickle wedges...
Dayna Sue! I need to know!
