Crystal, a Harley and a '64 Cobra

Well, we thought we would post these. Crystal and Jarrad just had their wedding, so it is safe to let the world know how beautiful Crystal looked in her dress. These pictures were taken at Helen's in League City.

Victoria + Matt

A couple of weeks ago we were graced with yet another Indian Summer day here in Houston. It was a lovely November day by any standard and yielded some beautiful fall engagment portraits for Victoria & Matt. Hermann Park was lovely as always and we had a colorful sunset near the end. It was fun to see their personalities emerge and get to know one another. Thanks for being such good sports and especially to Matt for sacrificing some college football tv bonding time! ; )

Larson Family Portraits

Fall is here! Well, as much as it comes to Houston. Leaves are slowly falling and the chill is in the air. Last Saturday we took the Larson's family photos in the Heights area. Such a darling family and their fall outfits looked great. I loved little Owen's sock monkey sweater, too!

We started out along 19th Street and made our way to Heights Blvd. where there's a fabulous gated park. Since Owen is curious, fearless and loves to run and explore, we needed to confine his space a bit. He's not even two and I must say he lasted for quite a while! I need that kind of energy! We had a ball at the park and watching them play together--enjoy!

Week 15: Cemetary Crosses

Lask week's Yellow Spider practically blew the Green Spider out of it's web! I shot the yellow spider and was intrigued by all of the spiders that were around. Colorful and fun--from a distance! I stepped too close to one and got attached to its web on the ground, and the spider started dropping from his web. That didn't necessarily thrill me. . . but I would do it again! (Meaning, shoot photos of spiders.)

For Week 15 we have some more cemetary fun! The focus for this week is crosses. So, select your favorite Cemetary Cross! People, don't be afraid to comment--we don't bite! ; )

Week 14: Spiders

A little late getting to the post for this week. But I am here to deliver! Week 13 was our battle of the Weeping Angel. Conor shot the color image and it was stellar--thus the reason he won 10-6. I enjoyed reading your comments and thoughts posted. I agree with everything said. There are reasons each photo is good and it's nice to have the constructive criticism.

I now present Week 14 with our colorful models that were so kind to hang out and pose for some photos over the weekend. Select the yellow spider or green spider. Please post your comments as to why you like the spider. Even if you don't "like" spiders--just pick one based on photo content! ; ) Vote now!!!

Week 13: Weeping Angel

Yes, we fell off the face of the planet and just got back to reality. My apologies for not posting any of our contests for Project 52 the past 3 weeks. We have been slackers in that area and I'm not going to attempt to provide any lame excuses.

Conor won Week 12 by 2 votes, in the flower vs. the car for our red and green showdown. The little Chevron car exploding out of the plant was quite comical and even made me laugh. Clever idea!

With yesterday being Halloween, we thought it fitting to visit Glenwood cemetary in the morning to shoot photos. Perfect for the occasion and weather finally felt like fall. I personally love cemetaries, and I found this one to be glorious! Our favorite subject there was whom we named, "Weeping Angel". She is just beautiful! Please vote for your favorite photo this week and tell us why--color or closeup b&w. Cast your vote!!!

Newlyweds

I love this picture! The fact that they're family aside, how cool is it that when they were married more than 100 years ago they had a professional portrait taken? Love it!!! It is one of the few wedding photos I have ever seen on either side of my family--and it's the only one I have a copy of. I "borrowed" the original from my grandma a couple years ago and scanned it in. Today I retouched and color corrected the photo to a warm b&w. Soon it will be sent off to the lab and framed and hung in my house--can't wait!

This is living proof of how important it is to have photos taken. Not only do we get to enjoy them, but so does our posterity for years to come!

Natalie + Matt

We love night portraits! So when we discussed with Natalie and Matt where to shoot their engagement photos, it seemed a perfect fit to shoot where they live--in downtown Houston. Our adventure began at Discovery Green and we wandered around downtown to some of their favorite places, ending at the lightrail. I think we were all melting in the summer-like heat and humidity, despite our strategically planned "fall" date. You two are such a cute couple and we're excited for your wedding in January!
